What ant control actually involves
Most ant problems are treated backwards. Spraying the line of ants crossing your counter kills the foragers and leaves the colony intact, which is why the trail is back within a week. We treat the colony itself, using non-repellent products that the workers carry back to the nest before they die. It is slower to look impressive and considerably more permanent.
How to tell you have them
- A steady trail of ants along a wall edge, counter, or windowsill
- Small piles of what looks like sawdust near skirting, sills or door frames — carpenter ant frass
- Faint rustling inside a wall or hollow door in the evening
- Winged ants indoors in spring, which means an established nest, not visitors
- Ants appearing in an upstairs bathroom or kitchen with no visible entry point

How we treat ant control

Identify the species
Carpenter, pavement, pharaoh and odorous house ants each need a different product and a different placement. Getting this wrong is the single most common reason a treatment fails.

Trace the nest
We follow trails to entry points and inspect the likely harbourage — wall voids, sub-floor, wet framing, exterior grade. Carpenter ants almost always mean moisture damage somewhere, and we tell you where.

Treat at source
Non-repellent perimeter application plus targeted gel or dust into voids and galleries. Workers transfer it through the colony, which is what reaches the queen.
- 04
Seal and advise
We show you the entry points and the moisture conditions attracting them. Fixing those is what stops the next colony moving in.
When this peaks in Ontario
Ontario ant activity climbs sharply from late April as ground temperatures rise, peaks through July, and produces winged swarmers in spring. Carpenter ants stay active indoors year-round where there is heated, damp framing — so winter sightings inside are a genuine warning sign, not a stray.
